Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How would you describe your approach?
I use a holistic approach, considering and honoring clients' and students' mind, body, heart and spirit, allowing free expression and access to all parts of the self.

What is mind/body therapy?
Integrating body awareness, sensation and movement with thoughts, feelings and the senses. This accesses and allows integration of more parts of the self and can be more effective than simple "talking therapy."

How do you integrate yoga into psychotherapy treatment?
By adding breath, simple asanas (yoga postures) and yogic philosophy to the therapy, clients have the unique opportunity to access more and deeper parts of themselves, allowing expression, release and awareness of self on many levels. Yoga therapy is recommended for clients who have had previous yoga experience, as well as those who are simply curious or interested.

What kind of clients most benefit from working with you?
I welcome teenagers, individual adults and couples who are ready and willing to go deeper than in traditional talking therapy, and who are committed to change in their lives.

What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses the natural, deep relaxation of the trance state to access thoughts, beliefs, habits, patterns, memories and spirituality to create more lasting change at the source of the issue or problem. Results from hypnotherapy are often quick and lasting.

What is reiki energy healing?
Reiki is the Japanese word for "life force energy," also known as chi, ki or prana in other traditions. Reiki energy is universally present and available for all levels of healing. As a reiki practitioner, I am skilled in helping clients to access this energy for themselves.
